Administrator – The Carpinteria Education Foundation (CEF) is looking for a administrator who will promote the mission and goals of the Foundation.
The success of the Foundation’s reputation and ultimate ability to achieve its vision of “sustainability” rests on the cultivation of branding, donors, donor trust, confidentiality and effective communications. This positions requires creativity and innovation and a close working relationship with the President of the Board.
As with all Foundation positions, it is expected that the mission, core values and vision are exemplified by the individual filling the role.
Duties and Responsibilities
Experience and Abilities
✔ Is an effective communicator verbally and in writing
✔ Possesses excellent organizational skills
✔ Understanding of desktop publishing, word processing, spelling, grammar, and punctuation
✔ Extensive skills in typing with speed and accuracy, computer, calculator, photocopier, multi-line telephone, fax, and performing general bookkeeping with accuracy, required.
✔ Database management and desktop publishing experience preferred
✔ Filing and organizing Foundation related correspondence, invoices and other documents
✔ Marketing and Visibility
✔ Meets as needed to define and execute roles for writing, edition and posting web and newsletter materials
✔ Meets as needed with consultants, including web master/web liaisons, to complete assignments
✔ Drafting press releases and securing photographs associated with each event – receiving edits from other members and sending articles to the media
✔ Chronicling Foundation life on Facebook, Twitter, etc.
✔ Responsible for yearly calendar and rosters, posting minutes and meetings
✔ May call on donors regularly for updates, increased commitments and opportunities to involve new ways to participate
✔ Schedules regular presentations to service clubs, community groups and potential donors. Provides consistent messaging to education and recruit new support
✔ Fundraising Events
✔ Maintains events calendar.
✔ Plans, schedules and executes individual events in conjunction with key volunteers and staff and community groups.
✔ Screens requests from Business and Community groups requesting permission to do a Father Fred Fund Raiser.
✔ Solicits in-kind goods and services as needed.
✔ Schedules and documents post event de-briefings.
✔ Responsible for thanking donors in a timely basis
✔ Maintains comprehensive schedule of grant opportunities, deadlines, follow-up
activities and reporting requirements for grants received.
✔ Works collaboratively with Board of Directors to assist in preparing quality grant requests.
✔ Makes recommendations on changes and additions and client data.
✔ Planned Giving
✔ Organizes communications and materials for solicitation
✔ Organizes targeted solicitation.
✔ Provides regular community feedback
✔ Provides input to staff meeting agendas.
✔ Participates in long range planning and annual budgeting
✔ Other duties as assigned
